Coaching

Coaching is a professional relationship designed to help you reach your personal, professional, and social goals, however it is not intended to be a substitute for medical advice or treatment.  Coaching is not the same as therapy or counseling nor does it afford the same regulated protections as mental health care.  Scheduling or participating in coaching sessions at GTA does not constitute a privileged health provider relationship; regardless of your coach’s other professional qualifications (e.g. licensure as a health professional, academic training in a health-related field).

Your coach may be a licensed mental health care provider, however by purchasing a coaching package you acknowledge that their relationship with you is not as a privileged health provider but as a life or relationship coach.  Their suggestions and recommendations during your coaching relationship are NOT to be construed as medical or psychological diagnosis, treatment, or advice.

If you need guidance regarding a specific mental or physical health issue, you are instructed to seek the guidance of an appropriately licensed health professional outside of your coaching sessions.  Group Therapy Associates coaches do not provide emergency services of any kind.  In an emergency situation, clients are advised to contact the appropriate resources within their local community.  You may not seek health care services from your coach at any time during the coaching relationship or for one year following the termination of coaching.

You further acknowledge and accept that coaching does not come under the regulations of HIPPA or any other state or federal regulations in regards to protecting your private health.   GTA is committed to your privacy and every reasonable effort will be made to maintain your privacy and confidentiality.  You agree not to hold your coach or GTA liable for personal information that may be exposed over the course of you coaching and further acknowledge that electronic communication and sessions in public venues may pose increased risk of exposure for which GTA is not responsible.  In the event that your coach is concerned about your physical safety or the safety of others, they may share any or all of your communications with appropriate persons and/or organizations in an effort to protect you/others.

While we promise to work to give you the best services we can, we cannot guarantee the outcome of your coaching sessions and/or recommendations.
