What do you love most about your job here at GTA?

I like having the opportunity to meet new people and learn about their lives. Without the help and support of others, I would not be where I am today. I love that GTA provides a space for people to come and share their experiences so that they may find ways to empower themselves.

Tweet that (your life story in 140 characters)

I’m a psychologist, crossfit coach, and dreamer. I am always trying to remember to be grateful for the gifts and privileges I have and looking for people to help me become a better person.

If I wasn’t doing this, I’d be…

A singing, dancing, firefighting, crossfitting nutritionist.

The official Story….

I have a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, and my experience and training started during my undergrad education. I have worked in numerous settings and diverse populations, including people of various ages, sex, professions, gender identities, and histories. I have also supervised groups of staff and students, led and co-led groups focusing on issues such as substance use and crisis prevention/management, and worked with other professionals to coordinate care for clients.

I have experience working with a range of clients and issues but my greatest passion is working with children, adolescents, and families. My goal is to help every client discover their strengths, build confidence, and accomplish their dreams. Primarily, I use a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to cognitive-behavioral therapy while also being relationship-focused. However, I come from a generalist program and am trained to use multiple theoretical orientations. The techniques and skills I use will vary depending on your needs and goals. Together with my colleagues at Group Therapy Associates, I’m happy to offer you a place to share your experiences and find ways to empower yourself.
